St. Brown brothers launch foundation to tackle youth literacy in Michigan

The St. Brown Foundation will host its inaugural fundraising event on Monday, Nov. 3, at Five Iron Golf

DETROIT – NFL stars and brothers Equanimeous, Osiris, and Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown are teaming up off the field for a cause close to their hearts: literacy.

The trio recently launched the St. Brown Foundation, a new charitable organization, and will host its inaugural fundraising event on Monday, Nov. 3, at Five Iron Golf in downtown Detroit to raise funds for youth literacy programs.

The event, called Strike for Literacy, will include golf and duckpin bowling, surprise celebrity guests, a silent auction, and complimentary food and drinks.

Amon-Ra, who led the Lions in receptions, will headline the evening’s festivities and participate in a meet-and-greet with VIP ticketholders. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Nearly 60% of third graders in Michigan failed to meet state reading standards, according to the 2024 Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress.

Proceeds from Strike for Literacy will support the St. Brown Foundation’s mission to reverse this trend by helping students succeed academically and shoot for the stars.

The St. Brown brothers are one of the few sibling trios to play Division I football, with two—Amon-Ra and Equanimeous—reaching the NFL.

Raised in a trilingual household, the brothers speak English, German, and French—and even took the SATs in all three languages.

Their mother, Miriam Brown, and their father, John Brown, a two-time Mr. Universe, instilled in them a passion for hard work, learning, and personal discipline from a young age.

A limited number of discounted early bird tickets are available. Pricing is expected to increase after Aug. 14.

Metro Detroit businesses and organizations are encouraged to join as event sponsors to support literacy and connect with a broad community of NFL fans, families, and leaders.

Sponsorships offer promotional opportunities, VIP access, and additional benefits.
